Railfest

We travel to the National Railway Museum in York to visit
Railfest, celebrating 200 years since Trevithick’s Penydarren,
in this first part we tour the steam arena tracing the early
days of railways.
Glasgow Underground
The third oldest underground system in Europe, we hear about
its early days as a cable hauled system, and see how it operates
today.
The
Bowes Railway.
The coal mining area of North East England utilised a network
of rope hauled systems to overcome the steep inclines in the
area, The Bowes Railway has kept part of this impressive piece
of engineering in operation.
